I've being working in the solar industry at a Top10 solar company as an installer, a warehouse manager, a procurement officer, a customer support manager, and an itrainer. I've taught 100's of solar contractors solar installation.  Now I bring the full wealth of my experience to the aid of the homeowner.  I love the solar system on my house and the stress free comfort that it yields.  I want to share my knowledge and help you go solar for as little as possible.  This site is for you.

Having been in solar operations, sales, and distribution for several years we saw the need for a way for homeowners anywhere to get great pricing along with the convenience of shopping from their home or office.

Being primarily an Internet based company, we have a much lower overhead than a conventional dealer and so we are able to pass those savings on to our customers.  Though great pricing is the main focus of TSG, we didn't lose sight of the fact that service was also a top priority with our customers.

I got the idea for That Solar Guy after being in the solar industry for many years.  I noticed it was easy to get the solar company names all mixed up.  SunPower, SunTech, SunGreenButterfly, SolarPro, ProSolar, GoSolar, GoGreen, GoGreenButteryflySolarPro , ok I think you get my point.  I also noticed a common habit of people to refer to the ONE guy they know in a discipline is reffered to as "That ______ Guy"   For example, That Bike Repair Guy'  That Welder Guy, That Sign Guy  So I figured why not cut to the chase and just choose what people are going to call me anyway? 

Husband to Wife:  "Hey honey, our electric bills are just insane, what was the name of that solar guy we talked to at the BBQ last weekend?

 Oh yeah That Solar Guy!"

UPDATE:  A new twist on the name That Solar Guy.  We've noticed that once you install a solar system on your house, you're probably the only one on the block with solar.  You instantly become "That Solar Guy" in your neighborhood.  We're cloning ourselves with every purchase!!

We've also done our fair share of classroom lecture based solar training to installers, salesmen, business owners, homeowners, and lots of contractors.
